The Austin Green-Tech & Climate Hackathon is a high-energy collaborative programming marathon designed to generate actionable software solutions for environmental sustainability. Bringing together software developers, UI/UX designers, environmental researchers, and clean-tech specialists, this 48-hour event focuses heavily on software scalability and immediate usability. Teams can choose to tackle real-world climate problems across three core tracks: Carbon Footprint Auditing, Optimizing Local Renewable Energy Grids, or Building Transparency in Sustainable Agricultural Supply Chains. Verified environmental data sets and climate models are provided to participants upon launch. On-site mentors help teams validate their software metrics and construct realistic business use cases. The final software builds are presented to a jury composed of sustainability investors, climate scientists, and technology directors who are looking to fund promising eco-friendly applications.
